Cactus- Eriosyce coimasensis| Large mature plant (4" pot)

Eriosyce coimasensis—literally "the woolly fig from Las Coimas"—is a striking Chilean cactus with a dark green to purple-black globular body armed with long, formidable spines that range from brown-black to grey. Its standout feature is the magnificent hot pink to magenta flowers with a contrasting neon yellow throat, appearing in spring and reaching nearly 3 inches across. Grow it in full sun with a well-draining mineral mix, water regularly in summer, and keep it dry in winter; it's hardy down to 14°F for brief periods.
